Make sure your balayage stays fresh!

If you usually visit me for balayage appointments, there are a few ways to extend the life of your fresh color until your next appointment. Let's be real, most of us don't have time for a 3 or 4 hour appointment every 3 months. This includes me, I only have my own balayage done like, twice a year!

Here's what you can do to extend your balayage:

1. Book a glaze and haircut between balayage appointments. The glaze adds protein and color back to your faded highlights. A haircut paired with the protein in a glaze will freshen everything up and you'll feel like a new human!

*NOTE* A glaze cannot lighten your hair - only lightener can do that. A glaze can only darken or tone the color of the highlights you already have. If your hair feels darker than you like, then you should book another lightening session!

2. When preparing to come in for your balayage appointment, make sure your hair is clean and dry. Clean hair accepts color better than hair that has oils or products covering it! Just wash your hair the night before your appointment or after you work out the morning of your appointment to make sure it's ready for your color appointment!

3. If you have hard water at home, make sure you're using the Malibu C Hard Water Wellness system at least once a week, or every other week if you wash your hair twice a week or less. These products remove the buildup of minerals that naturally deposit on your hair over time.

If you have a hard time remembering to do treatments weekly (same, girl) then set a reminder on your phone! If I didn't have reminders to do things weekly, all of my plants would die and my hair and skin would look like a hot mess.

If you're ready to book an appointment for a fresh balayage, or a maintenance appointment then click the link below to see what I have open! As always, if you can't find anything open on my online booking system, just email me at hairbyjessieryan@gmail.com.
